Our Terms of Sale

At Fair Price Cars Ltd we believe that it is important to act with integrity and to treat people fairly, no matter what their budget. Therefore you can trust that:

  • We will never lie to you or mislead you
  • We complete mechanical inspections on all cars prior to offering them for sale
  • We welcome third party mechanical inspections on all cars we sell
  • We sell cars with new/long MOTs to ensure their roadworthiness
  • We repair any known issues or declare these to potential buyers - we NEVER conceal them
  • We service all cars as required (oil, oil filter, fuel filter, cabin filter, air filter and spark plugs)
  • We give all cars extended road tests before offering them for sale
  • We encourage you to take the car on an extended test drive before purchasing
  • We always carry out cam belt services if due
  • We offer third party warranties when age and mileage permit
  • We never offer a third party warranty without discussing its limitations with you

After-sale care

72 hours or 500 miles: If any faults develop within 72 hours or 500 miles of collection (whichever comes sooner) which have clearly not been caused by misuse we will rectify these (excluding tyres) on your behalf at no cost.

6 months: If any fault that makes the car unroadworthy becomes evident within 6 months of purchase and which you feel existed pre-sale but was missed by our mechanics we will arrange for the car to be inspected and, if we agree, we will cover the cost of repairs or, if this is uneconomical, offer a refund. Should we disagree but you remain convinced we will refer the matter to the motor ombudsman and will abide by that body’s conclusions and repair schedule.

12 months and beyond: While not liable for any future maintenance or repair costs, Fair Price Cars Ltd will provide any parts at preferential trade rates (at cost, making no charge or profit from this) if needed for 12 months following the sale and for a £75+VAT logistics fee thereafter.
